Shaping the future of contemporary art
-
Pamela Auchincloss is a global curator, arts administrator, and cultural strategist with more than four decades of experience in the contemporary art world. She has organized exhibitions and programs for museums, galleries, and alternative spaces throughout the United States and Europe, responding to the evolving landscape of the art world and the growing need for innovative, entrepreneurial thinking within arts organizations.
In 2004, Auchincloss joined Artist Pension Trust® (APT) as a founding regional director of what would soon become the world’s largest global art fund. Working with a network of 150 curators and a cohort of 2,500 artists from around the world, she consulted for and managed APT over the next eight years, serving as APT New York Director, Managing Director of North America and Europe, Managing Director of Global Operations, and ultimately CEO from 2008 to 2011. Her leadership of this pioneering art-world venture gave her an unparalleled global network and deep insight into the international art ecosystem.
Shortly thereafter, Auchincloss relocated to Vienna, Austria, dividing her time between Europe, a co-working offices in New York City and LA, and her newly built home in the Colorado Rockies. She remains constantly engaged with the international art world, traveling extensively to biennales, art fairs, galleries, and artist studios, while also advising private collectors. A passionate collector herself, she is committed to fostering greater appreciation for contemporary art and to introducing and educating a new generation of art enthusiasts.
